Bless the excess!

Well well, g'day my dearest reader!

Despite of having had a nasty flu for a week now, one that turned into an upper respiratory system infection (antibiotics - weehee) I had an appointment I needed to attend to and miraculously enough, I felt a lot better in the morning today and out and off I went, hurrah!

My wishes for a fall swiftly coming got delayed quite some for it's been summery, sunny and hot hot hot for a couple of days now. And there I was, dreaming of getting to wear my new oh so pretty purple beret this week... But as inevitable as it can be, seasons change, luckily and I will get to enjoy the scarves and berets and mittens soon enough anyway.

Now, onto the look!

(see this look on lookbook here!)

dress: Ark&co.,  from Nasty Gal
socks: H&M
shoes: Litas by Jeffrey Campbell, from Nasty Gal
bag: MyBag, from Aleksi13
ribcage neckpiece: OS
bracelets and rings: Kalevala Koru
sunglasses: Lindex
hair flowers: H&M

Oh my goodness it felt amazing, getting to be out of the house for a change! Being sick is ok, but not getting to roam free in the fresh air is what always bothers me. Anyway, today saw a very welcome change to that!

I was so happy to be wearing this dress. I adore it so. It's got those perfect roses printed on it, the open shoulder/sleeve is so comfortable - and beautiful too. Oh and guess what?

That's quite the right answer, dearest reader, yes, the dress has pockets in it. Bliss!

I kept the bling at minimum, only wearing my beloved Kalevala Koru pieces.

(Marika, this photo is for you as well!)

Flowers! Omg so girly I can't even    , but I could anyway! Hahah. These little hair clips have roses in perfect shades for my taste and here they are, in my hurrrs.

Today was also a black lipstick day. Way too few of them days, lately. Must fix this.

The ribcage neck piece. Ah! It's such a delight to wear it. Thus I wear it often. La laa!

Oh dear, my roots look rather dreary. But being ill means no hair operations. Said operation to follow asap. Have I mentioned that I do my own hair? I've done it since I was just a wee 15 year-old me. No education, just trial and error and finally success, too. Hah. Oh well. Let us move on, to the last picture of the bunch.

I f*cking love this photo, oh hahhahhaa! See, there was this overly eager bee/wasp/whatever (I didn't inspect it that close. I think it inspected me much closer, heh). And with it's vigor it just wanted to I don't know, give me a gentle kiss, maybe? For I was wearing flowers everywhere. Or it took a liking to my perfume (Chanel number five at the moment, of course)? Anyway. I'm not scared of bees nowadays, I somehow managed to get rid of my fear of small flying things hovering in my personal space year or two ago. But when a prime example of a small flying thing wants to enter one's mouth the situation calls for a time-out. And that we got, and photos of me not looking like that, them we got as well. As you've seen here.

photos by Jussi, as per usual

I need try and rest now, for this darn illness I do not want getting any worse than it already is.

Toodles for now, dear readers! Be well!

Heatwave.

Greeting from the sunny and hot (and sweaty and sticky) North!

This summer's been not that hot of a summer (which I don't particularly mind as our home is one hell of an oven when it's hot outside) but today was a reminder that it really is still the warmest of the seasons.

Here's hot and sweaty good ol' yours truly in my summery gear!

(see this look on lookbook here!)

over-sized top: Gina Tricot
bra/top: Lindex
shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Night Litas, from www.solestruck.com
bag: MyBag, from Aleksi13
circular ear weights: www.bodyartforms.com
necklace: Glitter
bracelet: Kalevala Koru
rings: H&M, Gina Tricot, Kalevala Koru

This is the least clothes I've had on this year (on public, that is, harhar) and I have to admit that dressing accordingly to the weather also on hot days is a nice thing. I tend to wear rather too much of clothes than too little almost without exceptions. Because, obviously, it is a lot easier to take off a layer than to add on something that isn't there.

The shoes. Have I mentioned that I'm oh so very fond of them? (referring to the entry before this one)

Somehow this over-sized top/dress/whatsoever (that I got from sale on Gina Tricot for mere 5 euros) just naturally paired itself with the shoes. Not going over-over-the-top was, I suppose, my intention today. Well, there's no such thing as too much of much anything for me...

Anyway, lots of bling today like on so many days. Turquoise. Of course.

Damn this heat makes my head melt. Hurrrdurrrr and lalalaa.

I found the perfect khol from my eyebrows the other day and it made me so happy. It's "Sparkling Beach" by Make-Up Store and it has loads of pigment in it (as their products always have). It's also a metallic shade which I wanted because having metallic turquoise brows is my new favourite accessory, haha.

Oh! Today was also the first time in a really, very long while that I wore only lip balm on my lips. Gasp. Yes, it felt, and I mean actually felt funny. Not literally though. But anyway. You get my point I'm sure!

photos taken by J.

Dum-dee-dum I'm sitting here wiping sweat from my face, ungh.

That was surely a thing everyone wanted to know, oh bhahhah. See, my brain really is melting. I wonder what's going to happen when I take out my painting stuff and start painting this image I have in my head...

Toodles, dear readers! I hope you are having a good weekend!

Edited to add: thank you so, so much for all the nice comments! I suck at replying to them but I promise to try harder from now on.

Rabbits, roses and all the f*cks I give.

Hi! It's been a while, eh?

I've been feeling really unwell again - or still - and that is to blame for the lack of posts. For that I apologize once again.

But better later than never?

May I present you the outfit I wore today, on a rainy day, with the idea of not giving a f*ck (not that I ever do, heh..) about what my choices of garments say about me.

(see this look on lookbook here!)

faux leather jacket: Gina Tricot
cardigan (that's actually bright neon pink but just doesn't translate to photos): Gina Tricot
sleeveless blouse: ASOS
maxi skirt: Vero Moda
rose boots: ASOS
bag: Osis, from Aleksi13 ages ago
rose and bling necklace: H&M
bracelet: Kalevala Koru

So, as one must, I had to run some errands despite of feeling not very well and thus comfort was the number one factor in this outfit. No heels, just cozy and pretty items mashed together.

The weather wasn't actually as chilly as I had thought (shame on me for once forgetting to check the weather forecast online!) and as I was on my way home, carrying heavy grocery bags I was quite a sweaty little thing. The jacket is so great for windy and rainy days, but it's also rather heat inducing. And nevermind the cardigan underneath it...

I do (still) have two legs, even if this photograph up there hints on things being not quite so)

This blouse arrived a few days ago. I could not, absolutely not resist purchasing it when I saw it was on sale. The colour is so so nice and, well, bunnywabbits, anyone? Hares more like, to be serious. Heh. I also like the fact that the uppermost button is black while others are not. Details like that are what I love!

This necklace. This cute cute cute cute cute darn little necklace, it had been calling my name rather loudly for a while already. For some unknown reason I bought it only a couple of days ago even though I knew we were meant to be the moment I first saw it. It's so cheesy I'm just head over heels in love with it. And since this was the first outing since acquiring it, it was obviously going to dangle from my neck today.

In this photo up there the guinea pig of a lady is showing off her very turquoise and very glittery nails. Well, the glitter doesn't show, but at least the colour does.

Eyebrows! That are! And not black, long and as thin as can be! Madness?

No! Love. That's what it is. Funnily enough I drew myself turquoise/blue brows on yesterday for the first time ever, despite the facts that a) I've been known to try pretty close to everything imaginable with make-up and b) I've had turquoise hair on several different occasions during the last six years maybe? Anyway. Love, instantly.

I'm the kind of person that gets bored of one's appearance very easily and thus keep playing with make-up and hair often. It's actually a small miracle of a thing that my hair's been (almost) the same colour for this long. Well, I did dye it bluer. And as you most likely have noticed, I've changed my eyebrows some during a short period of time. Well, as it happened, I'd grown a bit tired of the lack of brows and felt bored with my usual drawn-on lines of black. So realizing I had metallic turquoise khol pens in my possession and that they could be used to draw on one's brows as well as, um, everywhere else hahhah, this happened and I think I'll stick to this form of eyebrowness for a while!

So, that was that! I can not promise to post more often blablabla since my well-being isn't at a very stable phase, but I will do my best to keep this dear little blog of mine alive and active!

Take care, dear readers, may your week be filled with nice things!

Magpie and the Blue.

Hello, hello dear readers!

It looks like I'm back, hurrah. Let us go straight into the most important thing in the world: my outfit of yesterday!

(see this look on lookbook here! )

top: H&M
skirt: Gina Tricot
tights: Lindex
socks: H&M
belt: Gina Tricot
cardigan (pictured below): thrifted
bag: thrifted
shoes: Jeffrey Campbell, from Nasty Gal
ear adornments: www.bodyartforms.com
neckpiece: Lindex
bracelets: H&M Kids, Kalevala Koru
rings: H&M, Lindex

Black black black. It's still going strong, my black phase number whoknowswhat. What I love about wearing  all black ensembles is that one can play with materials and textures so nicely. Well, the same goes for every outfit that's of a one colour only. But anyway.

Black and bling. Black and bling and spikes, still.

Nevermind the weird wrinkly hand in the photo above, please. Heh.

Litas. Yes, they're every other fashion bloggers' faves. They are all over lookbook. And yes, I love them. The thing is, every pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes I have are so incredibly comfortable to wear. My funnily shaped feet sit oh so well in them shoes. That must be one of the reasons why they've gained such popularity, especially Litas. Also, they are handsome as f*uck so to speak, and thus rather difficult to resist.

Eyebrows made a comeback! I didn't draw them on for such a long time it felt strange to see my reflection in the mirror with them drawn on at first. And oh the lengths they went to, haha. For years now I've loved to draw my brows all the way down, almost to my hair line, like I did here.

Bling!

Gosh how awesome this necklace is! It's bling-y and huge and heavy and gorgeous. I'd been looking for a big necklace like this for a while until I met this sweet piece of jewelry and oh how glad I was to have layed my eyes on it, the perfect "statement" necklace of this calibre and style.

By the way, I honestly can't stand the word statement this or that piece of accessory or clothing. I don't think I'm able to quite put my finger on the reason why exactly. It's just so... silly?

Ah, I like this photo so much. I like how my lipstick looks here. I've put my dark plum lipstick on only the center of both lips and left the outer corners just be natural.

Oh! And as you probably have noticed, I dyed my hair blue for a change. I like it so very much and I'm curious to see how it'll look after a while, to what hue it'll fade into.

photos by J.

Phew, now that was that, the outfit I wore yesterday. Tomorrow I turn thirty and will celebrate the occasion in a super relaxed manner with my family and close relatives. I shall, of course, post the outfit I wear tomorrow.

So see you in a day or two! Toodles, good people!

Jeepers Creepers!

My first (possibly of many to come...) gamer geek t-shirt. Yes. I mentioned about starting to play Minecraft on my last post and so it is only logical to follow up with this.

(see this look on lookbook here!)

three creeper moon tee: J!NX
mesh dress: Gina Tricot
skirt: H&M
socks: H&M
shoes: 2LipsToo, from Nasty Gal
bag: MyBag, from Aleksi13
belt: thrifted
sunglasses: Lindex
bracelet: Kalevala Koru
cube rings: Gina Tricot

In addition to being super fantastic a tee, it has the perfect colours, too, as you can see. And as I've grown to love three wolf moon motif (yet didn't have any variation of it on anything I own) this was a natural choice for me, haha!

I've been feeling black lately (well, in addition to feeling lavender/lilac/violet). It must be the summer with all of it's light and scents (roses, ahh!) and wonderful colours. Like there's enough of those things everywhere right now and I don't have to wear light and colourful items. Buh, I don't know.

Black, studs and spikes and layers. And jewelry. Lots of it, please yes thank you.

(Serious guinea pig is serious. Creepers are, after all, scary creatures!)

As a high heel lover I must admit that it really feels good to wear less heel at times. I suffer from vertigo and sometimes being suddenly 20 centimetres taller, after gracing my feet with heels, I get a considerable vertigo. It's better at the moment though. Oh, and have I mentioned that I'm so incredibly tall as 151 cm?

I love being short, never have had any problems with my lack of vertical greatness, hehheh.

Shit, I'm rambling now. I apologize.

See how brown my eyes look in these photos? Ah, the magic of make-up. Turquoise does this to my eyes rather intensely. No need for coloured contact lenses!

Have a great weekend, dear readers! May you all stay safe and be happy. Toodles!
